Android and iOS are two of the most popular smartphone operating systems in the market. They both command a great following with Android having the lion’s share of the market.

Both Android and iOS are generally neat operating systems and thus in most instances, it is purely a matter of tastes and preference (cost set aside) when choosing which between the two is the best for you.

However, there are a couple of reasons that make the Android operating system slightly better than the Apple’s mobile operating system.

Google Services

Google provides some awesome free services that generally make our life better. Millions and possibly billions use Gmail for their emails and Google Maps for navigation across the urban jungle. One of the great features with such services is their ability to sync across all the devices that you use.

Android Smartphones generally handle sync better than the iPhones. Additionally, Android users get the best features first before Google makes them available to the other operating systems such as the iOS.

Replaceable Batteries

Smartphone batteries age and with aging, they become inefficient with time. Most of the Android Smartphones come with a replaceable battery and you can thus just slide in a brand new battery once the old one is ready to drop.

This feature is not available on an iPhone as the battery is non-removable.

MicroSD Storage Expansion

The internet is becoming faster and cheaper. With such speeds you just can’t help hitting the download button whenever it appears below something interesting.

Most Android devices will come with a card slot with some supporting MicroSD cards of up to 128 GB. Sadly, iPhones don’t come with any MicroSD card slots.

Custom Launchers

One of the best features of the Android operating system is that it allows extreme customization. Android devices will hardly look alike due to the numerous launchers that are free for download from the Google Play Store. You can’t do that on iPhones.

USB Charging

Android devices come with a standard micro-USB charging port that can take in any compatible USB cable. You can thus charge up your Android device with any USB cable you come across. This is not the same with iPhones as they require Apple’s proprietary Lightning plug.

Wide Hardware Options

We all like to be different. Our tastes drive most of the decisions we make on the daily basis. This virtue makes Android to be the OS of choice for those who dare to be different. Android Smartphones come in a wide range of sizes and designs and you would most definitely get want you prefer.

iPhones on the other hand offer very limited hardware options. It is just recently, that the Apple launched the iPhone 6+, a larger variant of the iPhone 6.

iPhones are generally very pricey. This is the reason why iPhones perform extremely well in the developed world while the droids rule the emerging smartphone markets.

Android will still like you regardless of your low budget. You can easily get Android budget Smartphones priced under $90 in most emerging smartphone markets.
