Android 5.x now runs on approximately 21% of Android Smartphone accessing the Play Store.

The Android Lollipop 5. x September 2015 market share is a slight increase from the 18% market share the version held in August 2015.

The increasing market share of Android 5.0 can be attributed to the recent launch of a good number of smartphones running the latest version of Android.

Android 4.4 Kitkat still holds the lion’s share of the market share at 39.2%, a negligible drop from the 39.3% market share the version held in August 2015.

Android 4.1.x Jelly Bean has a 31.8% market share, Android 4.0.4 KitKat has a 3.7% while Android 2.3.x Gingerbread has a 4.1% market share.
