Interbrand has ranked Apple as the most valuable brand in its annual 2014 Brand Value Report.

Interbrand, a global Brand Consultancy, ranked the company on metrics based on their financial performance, how influential a brand is to purchasing decisions and how well a brand can command a premium from consumers.

With such metrics in place, it was rather obvious that Apple was taking first place. For starters, Apple has about three times more cash than the US Government, Apple fanboys are more than loyal to the brand and the prices buyers are paying for the iPhone leaves other Smartphone vendors green with envy.

Apple realized a 21% increase in its brand value which is now worth about $118.863 Billion. Google is number 2 and has a brand value of approx. $107,439 (a 15% appreciation from 2013). It is worthwhile to mention that Brandz had earlier in the year ranked Google as the no. 1 brand on the planets.

Apple and Google are the first companies to cross the $100 Billion Threshold in their brand value. With a combined brand value of about $127 Billion, it is evident that mobile technology does rule the planet.

Samsung, the largest Smartphone vendor in the world, is ranked seventh with an estimated brand value of about $45.48 Billion.

2014 hasn’t been exactly a good year for the South Korean Tech Giant as it has been reported dwindling profits and in some instances losses in its quarterly financial reports. Samsung however, still managed to pull off a 15% rise in its brand value in 2014.

Huawei made its debut into the Interbrand Brand Value Report and is ranked at no. 94 with an estimated brand value of about $4.3 Billion.
