The Infinix Hot 2 is one of the hottest entry-level smartphones available on the Kenyan market.

The Hot 2 X510 is also the first smartphone from the Android One program to launch in Africa.

One of the highlighted features of the smartphone is that Google confirmed that it will be among the smartphones assured to receive firmware updates soon after they become available.

Well, true to that, Google has confirmed that Infinix Hot 2 will be among the smartphone that will receive the Android 6.0 update.

However, there is no official word on the exact date Google will start seeding out the Marshmallow update to the Infinix Hot 2.

It is worthwhile to note that Google has already started seeding out the Android 6.0 update to other Android One smartphones, so, yeah, the update could become available sooner than you expect.

    • Hi Valiant,

Come to think of it, the update is long overdue.

I do hope Santa will escalate our complaints to Google!

The phone is no longer supported by Google’s AndroidOne project and, that’s why the update hasn’t been rolled out. Infinix is supposed to handle the update ON THEIR OWN and it seems they’ve tossed it to the wind. Simu si tilishabuy? Tutado? That’s what they’re laughing about. They’re are now set on fooling us again with their marketing gimmicks and untrue performance promises with the Hot 3. Infinix is a brand I’ll never touch again and I guess Google won’t either. To be part of the AndroidOne project, phones have to perform and run well OVER TIME, something Google later, clearly found lacking on the Hot 2, as I am myself. Naiuza 2K and its only one and a half months old.
