Jumia Smartphone sales grew by 366% in 2015

Jumia (Global) smarphone sales grew by an impressive 366% in 2015.

This was among the many interesting insights the leading Kenyan online retailer provided during the launch of its second White Paper on Mobile trends in Kenya at a press conference held today at the Laico Regency in Nairobi.

Among those who attended the conference were key personalities that included Infinix, Tecno Mobile, Wiko and X-Tigi Country Managers as well as Jumia Kenya Managing Director, Parinaz Firozi.

The launch of the White Paper precedes the Jumia Kenya Mobile week, a weeklong sale with huge discounts on mobile phones, in partnership with manufacturers; Infinix, Tecno, Wiko, X-Tigi and Innjoo. The Jumia Kenya Mobile week will take place next week starting May 30th and June 3rd.

The conference also saw six new smartphone model launches from the gold partners, including Wiko Fever, Innjoo fire 2 and Fire 2 Plus, Innjoo Halo Plus, Infinix Hot 3 LTE and Tecno PhonePad 7II.

The six smartphones will retail at; Ksh. 19,999, 7,569, 11,769, 6,129, 11,699 and 14,499 respectively in the sale dubbed Mobile Week Reloaded, the second of its kind in the country.

Customers who purchase smartphones during the Jumia Mobile week will enjoy discounts of up to 50% on select products as well as complimentary gifts that include Flip covers and Screen Protectors.
