Lenovo A6000 Technical Specifications

Display

Display Size: 5.0 inches

Screen Resolution Density: 294 ppi

Screen Protection: None

The Lenovo A6000 features a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. A 5.0-inch display is generally now the standard for entry-level smartphones, but it is awesome that the A6000 features an impressive HD display.

Other than that, you get a 294 ppi display resolution density (impressive), but sadly the Lenovo A6000 lacks any form of screen protection.

Design

Dimensions: 141 x 70 x 8.2 mm

Weight: 128 g

The Lenovo A6000 features the standard boxy candy-bar smartphone design that features smooth well-rounded corners.

The design isn’t exactly eye-catching, but what is worthwhile to mention are the two speaker grills that guide the sound waves out of the two Dolby-enabled Speakers that come inbuilt with the Lenovo A6000.

Dolby is a market leader when it comes to Audio processing and you should definitely expect a better than average music playback experience with the Lenovo A6000.

Performance

Operating System: Android OS, v4.4.4 (KitKat)

CPU: Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53

RAM: 1 GB

Internal Memory: 8 GB

Micro SD: Yes, up to 32 GB

A Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU powers the Lenovo A6000 and this is coupled with 1GB RAM. This is an impressive blend that you can’t really complain about it.

The A6000 runs Android OS, v4.4.4 (KitKat) which is still a decent operating system in spite that Android 6.0 out.

On the OS, the A6000 comes with the Lenovo Vibe 2.0 skin touch interface and the smartphone is bundled with a number of proprietary Lenovo Apps as well a couple of third-party Application that includes premium Games.

You get some 8GB of internal memory and a Micro-SD slot that supports up to 32 GB of Memory.

The Lenovo A6000 is a Dual-SIM smartphone, but there is a catch. Only SIM 1  supports 4G and 3G data, SIM 2 slot only offers 2G/Edge internet. Therefore, if you are in Kenya, where it’s only Safaricom that offers 4G internet connectivity, your Safaricom line will by default have to be be SIM 1.

Battery and Extras

Battery Capacity: Li-Po 2300 mAh

You get a 2300 mAh battery with the Lenovo A6000. This is quite a decent battery capacity that will last you through a day of moderate usage.

Extras

4G Internet

Verdict

The Budget 4G internet segment is an emerging niche of the smartphone market and vendors want the largest piece of this pie. Lenovo even though a well-established brand and a leading global smartphone vendor isn’t a house-hold name in Kenya.

However, the Lenovo A6000 in itself is a decent smartphone that will definitely appeal to the budget 4G smartphone buyer. It will be interesting to see how the A6000 performs in the Kenyan market.
