Like karma is all against you this almost always happens where the computer stand is and you have to keep moving your laptop to make your reception tolerable.

Well good news since the genius of one Jason Cole, a PHD student at Imperial College London has yielded some incredible fruits. He has done an extensive study of electromagnetic waves which is essentially what Wi-Fi is and has come up with a breakthrough

Cole was studying how electromagnetic waves [Wi-Fi in this case] bounce off objects in a room and he discovered the phenomena that was responsible for low Wi-Fi signals in some places in the house.

It is actually a well-known property of waves in physics. It is called superimposing and results in a standing wave. The reflected waves cancel out the traveling waves and cause a kind of bling spot where the Wi-Fi is very poor.

So what Cole did was brilliant. He has written an app that utilizes your smartphone Wi-Fi hardware to create a map of your house interior. From this map it then suggests a perfect spot for your router to be placed.

The app got a staggering several thousand downloads within a few hours of launch in the PlayStore. This app will definitely play a big role in your internet setup
