Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Technical Specifications

Display

Display Size: 5.7 inches

Display Type: Super AMOLED capacitive

Screen Resolution: 1440 x 2560 pixels

Screen Resolution Density: 518 ppi

Screen Protection: Corning Gorilla Glass 4

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 features of a 5.7-inch Super Amoled display, and this is exactly what you will get on its predecessor the, Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

In addition to this, you get a super impressive 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution with the Galaxy Note 5. A 2K resolution is obviously the highlight of the smartphone and it being on such a gargantuan display gives the Galaxy Note 5 an edge over its competitors.

A 2K resolution is a very big deal considering that very few flagship smartphones feature that kind of resolution and the Galaxy Note 5 being sort of display-centric makes the smartphone the best in the game. Other than that, you get a massive 518 ppi screen resolution density and a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 layer to keep the scratches at bay.

Design

Dimensions: 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6 mm

Weight: 171g

2015 was different for Samsung. The South Korean Tech Giant finally resolved to switch from polycarbonate construction to metal and glass for its smartphones.

The use of an all-metallic chassis for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 gives the smartphone an exquisite look and this makes the smartphone completely different from its older sibling, the Galaxy Note 4.

The Galaxy Note 5 looks and feels expensive, something that appeals to high-end smartphone buyers.

It is worthwhile to mention that, there has been some tales of Galaxy Note 5 users ruining their smartphones if the Stylus was inserted backwards.

Performance

Operating System: Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop)

CPU: Octa-core 2.1 GHz Cortex (Exynos 7420)

RAM: 4 GB

Internal Memory: 32/64 GB

Micro SD: None

The performance profile of the Galaxy Note Range is among the factors that makes the series a favorite to business professionals.

You get an Octa-core 2.1 GHz Cortex (Exynos 7420) CPU coupled with some 4GB of RAM. This is a fantastic set up that easily makes the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 the most powerful smartphone with a Samsung Logo on it.

Other than that, you get 32/64GB for your files. Unfortunately, just like the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Galaxy Note 5 lacks a memory card slot.

There are a number of reasons why the Galaxy Note 5 lacks a Micro SD slot and some consider this a deal breaker for those who store high quality multimedia content on their smartphones.

Camera

Rear Camera: 16 MP

Secondary Camera: 5 MP

LED Flash: Yes

You get a 16 MP rear camera for general photography and a 5 MP snapper for your selfies. Samsung as usual, spoils Galaxy Note 5 users with exclusive camera features that makes the smartphone super awesome.

Some of the highlighted Samsung Galaxy Note 5 camera features include real time broadcasting to YouTube and shooting 4K ultra-HD video.

What is interesting, however, is that 4K UHD Video can range to up to 750MB per minute and thus with limited internal memory, this basically means, you can’t really enjoy the power of the camera.

Battery and Extras

Battery Capacity: Li-Po 3000 mAh

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 comes with a Li-Po 3000 mAh battery to keep the lights on.

Extras

Finger Print Scanner

Samsung Pay

Verdict

For quite some time, Smartphones from the Galaxy Note Range had the Apex Predator Tag i.e. they lacked any form of serious competition. Well, that changed when Apple unveiled the iPhone 6 Plus.

Samsung had to make a truly high-end smartphone, and the Galaxy Note 5 simply sets the standard for what should be considered a high-end Android smartphone.
