Despite being a diehard Samsung fan boy, I got lots of respect for Sony Xperia handsets (Yes I must admit!). The Sony design team strikes the elusive balance of matching excellent technical specifications (i.e for the geeks) and elegance in the design of their products.

To top it all, they still manage to prize their phones in a bracket that my lean wallet can handle. The Sony Xperia line is part of the famous Xperia family Line.

The Sony Xperia Ray is the bridge between the low-end Xperia phones such as the X10 and high-end ones such as the Sony Xperia Arc S.

Let’s get down to the specs, under the magnificent 3.3 inches Mineral Glass display, rests a 1 GHz scorpion CPU.

This is a first, considering that most phones in the same price group with the Xperia Ray such as the Samsung Galaxy Ace, spots a 800 MHz CPU clock speed.

The 1 GHz CPU comes with an Adreno 205 Graphic Processing Unit. This tag team is sufficient to handle modern 3D android games from the Google play store.

Back to the display, the glass is scratch resistant to minimize the chances of ugly scratches seeking permanent residence on your pricey toy.

It is interesting to note that despite the 3.3-inch screen still possesses one of the highest resolutions available in smart phones.

The Xperia ray has a 297 ppi per pixel density, this is fairly high considering the recently launched Apple Flagship phone, iPhone 5 has a 326 ppi per pixel density while the Samsung Galaxy s3 has a 306 ppi per pixel density. On the dimensions, the Xperia ray has a 111 x 53 x 9.4 mm chassis.

The Xperia Ray is ergonomically designed in a way that it can fit comfortably in your palm. This is further enhanced by the fact it weighs only about 100g and comes with a thin waistline that makes one-handed phone operations a breeze.
