No so long ago, 720p display were a preserve of the mid-rangers but times have now changed and the feature has started trickling down to budget devices. A 720p display is at least steps away from the 1080p Full HD display that everyone desires.

The Boom J7 additionally, features a curved back panel that enhances the ergonomics of the device. There is also the notification light that encircles the Home button. At the rear side of the Boom J7 is the speaker.

Most would have expected Tecno Mobile to include some stereo speakers on the devices to enhance the audio experience. But, unfortunately, you just have one external speaker. However, Tecno includes some sleek metalicious in-ear earphones to provide some smooth stereo output.

Most would have expected that Android 5.0 Lollipop would have made its debut on a Tecno device through the Boom J7. All in all, Kitkat is still the most popular version of Android and the OS doesn’t look that bad on the Tecno Boom J7.

This is a market whose needs were largely fulfilled by high-end devices that only a fraction of buyers in a developing Smartphone market such as Kenya can afford.

It is commendable that Tecno Mobile is keeping the innovative spirit alive through the introduction of Smartphones that most can afford to purchase.

The Tecno Boom J7 may not be the best Smartphone for an Audiophile, but it does a good job of fulfilling the Audio Quest for buyers on a budget.
