Apple has announced the launch of its very own Self-Service Repair, an online store that offers users repair manuals, genuine Apple parts, and tools.

The new store will provide more than 200 individual parts and tools, enabling customers to complete repairs on their display, battery, and even camera. The parts and tools apply to the iPhone 12, iPhone 13 lineups, and the iPhone SE (3rd gen).

The company claimed the program will also include manuals, parts, and tools to perform repairs on Mac computers with Apple silicon later in 2022.

“The Apple tools available to customers on the Self-Service Repair store are the same ones used by Apple’s repair network. They are custom designed to help provide the best repairs for Apple products, and are engineered to withstand the rigors of high-volume, professional repair operations where safety and reliability are the utmost priority,” the company said.

Apple will also offer rental tool kits for $49 for customers who don’t want to purchase tools for a single repair. The rental kits last a week and ship to customers for free.

By the way, some of the tools offered through Self Service Repair include torque drivers, display and battery presses, repair trays,  and more.

Customers who don’t have experience repairing devices may still visit a professional repair provider with certified technicians to have their iPhones fixed.

The Self Service Repair is currently available in the US and will expand to additional countries later in 2022.
