The TECNO L9+ is a budget battery centric smartphone that recently launched in Kenya. The L9+ features a number of fantastic tech features with the highlight being the awesome battery life.

That said, here is what the TECNO L9+ has to offer.

Battery

Battery Capacity: 5000mAh

The TECNO L9+ features an impressive 5000mAh. This is arguably one of the largest battery capacities you will find on an Android smartphone on the smartphone market.

To put the capacity into perspective, the Samsung Galaxy S7 has a 3000 mAh battery while the TECNO Phantom 6 Plus has a 4050 mAh battery capacity.

The battery capacity promises up to 3 days uninterrupted use (normal usage) from a single charge and just over 2 days while on heavy usage.

In addition to the large battery capacity, the TECNO L9+ supports fast charging (2A) and is able to charge the smartphone from 0% to 40% in roughly 30 minutes. Five minutes of charging is also enough to take 1000 photos, a win, especially if you are into smartphone photography.

Display Size: 6.0-inch

Screen Resolution: 1280 x 720 Pixels

Screen Resolution Density: 245 PPI

You get a 6.0-inch display with the Tecno L9+. The display size makes the smartphone a Phablet. It is, however, kinda disappointing that the L9+ comes with a 1280 x 720 Pixels resolution. I had expected it to have a 1080 x 1920 Pixel Full HD display just like the Infinix Note 3.

Design

Dimensions: 162 x 71.8 x 7.99mm

The TECNO L9+ surprisingly has a very attractive design. Most battery centric smartphones are often ugly monstrosities and thus it’s awesome that TECNO took some time to work on the design.

For instance, the L9+ has a 7.9mm thickness, in contrast the iPhone 7 has a 7.1 mm thickness. Overall, I really like the design.

Performance

Operating System: Android 7.0 (Based on HiOS)

CPU: 1.3GHz Quad-Core

RAM: 2GB

Internal Memory: 16GB

Micro SD: Yes, up to 32 GB

A 1.3GHz Quad-Core powers the TECNO L9+ and this is coupled with 2GB RAM. The setup is okay and almost at par with what you can get from rival smartphones.

In addition to this, you get 16GB as internal storage and a MicroSD slot that can handle up to 32GB of memory.

Camera

Rear Camera: 13 MP

Secondary Camera: 5 MP

LED Flash: Yes

You get a 13 MP camera for general photography and a 5 MP camera for your selfies.

The TECNO L9+ is an awesome choice if you are out shopping for a solid budget smartphone that provides fantastic battery performance
