The Wiko Getaway is one of the most beautiful budget Smartphones in the Kenyan market right now. The Getaway officially launched in the country about a month back, but was on a pre-order basis.

The Wiko Getaway is now available for order from various retail outlets. Here is what the Wiko Getaway has to offer.

The Wiko Getaway sports a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display. The display packs a 1280 x 720 pixels HD resolution, a secondary display feature that sets the Getaway distance away from its rivals.

It is also awesome that the Wiko Getaway features a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection layer. Display protection is often conspicuously missing on devices in the Getaway price range.

Frame Dimensions: 143 x 69.5 x 7.2 mm

Weight: 133 g

The Wiko Getaway boasts of an excellent design concept. The Smartphone has a svelte Aluminum frame that looks and feels a lot like that of the iPhone 5. The exquisite finish of the Wiko Getaway excels well at giving the Smartphone a premium look and feel.

The rear cover has what looks and feels like leather. I am not sure if it’s actual leather, but it sure gives a premium luster. Other than that, there is an LED light just besides the Wiko Logo for your notification.

Also, it is important to note a particular design concept with the Getaway. The Smartphone has a two SIM slots for the Dual SIM functionality. One of the Dual SIM supports a Nano SIM card slot that also doubles up as the MicroSD slot.

This innovative tweak unfortunately doubles up as an equally innovative ‘annoyance’. It implies you have to choose between an extra SIM card or a Micro-SD for your tunes and videos. You can’t use the two at a go.

Operating System: Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat)

CPU: 1.3 GHz Quad-core Cortex-A7

Internal Memory: 16 GB

Micro SD: Yes, up to 32 GB

A 1.3 GHz Quad-core powers the Wiko Getaway. This is coupled with 1GB of RAM. The performance profile of the Wiko Getaway doesn’t look anything out of the ordinary except that the Smartphone runs a stock version of the Android OS, v4.4.2 (KitKat).

This changes everything as often the user interface and the bloatware Apps (pre-installed apps that you don’t need) are what clog the Smartphone resources. You should expect some sterling performance that embarrasses Smartphones with better performance specifications.

Battery Capacity: Li-Po 2000mAh

A Li-Po 2000mAh battery powers the Wiko Getaway. Some pundits argue that the capacity might be inadequate, but taking into consideration that the Getaway runs a lean version of Android, the Getaway can take you through a day on a single charge.

Dual SIM

It is often an impossible task to spot gorgeous smartphone, with an amazing performance profile plus an affordable price tag in one package.
