This is exciting, the Wiko Slide 2 is exciting.

The Wiko Slide 2 launched in Kenya just a couple of hours ago and is now clearly one of best smartphones priced under Ksh. 10,000.

Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty, here is what the Wiko Slide 2 has to offer.

Wiko Slide 2 Technical Specifications

Display Size: 5.5 inches

Display Type: IPS LCD

Screen Resolution: 720 x 1280 pixels

Screen Resolution Density: 267 ppi

Screen Protection: None

The Wiko Slide 2 is massive. You get a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. This comes to a 267 ppi screen resolution display, which isn’t that impressive especially if you consider all that display real estate.

What is however, grand is that the Wiko Slide 2 features an IPS LCD display and that is remarkable owing to its price tag. You would have expected a basic TFT display and nothing better than that.

Dimensions: 142.3 x 72.1 x 8.5 mm

Weight: 149 g

The Wiko Slide 2 features a generic budget phablet design that is modest but with a touch of elegance. You get a polycarbonate construction complimented with a leather-effect on the rear side of the Wiko Slide 2.

Another interesting bit is the metallic chrome-like band that goes round the smartphone. This gives the Wiko Slide 2 a fancy appeal, something that often, is absent on budget smartphones.

Operating System: Android OS, v5.1 (Lollipop)

CPU: 1.4 GHz Octa-core

Internal Memory: 16 GB

Micro SD: Yes, up to 64 GB

The performance profile of the Wiko Slide 2 is one of the highlights of the device. You get a powerful Octa-core CPU, something that is a first on a Wiko budget smartphone.

Another exciting feature of the Wiko Slide 2 is the 2 GB RAM. 2 GB RAM is still a premium feature and it is really awesome that Wiko was able to include such an amount of memory on the Slide 2.

Other than that you get Android OS, v5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box, 16 GB for your files (about 11 GB usable) and a card slot that can handle up to 64 GB of memory.

Rear Camera: 13 MP

Secondary Camera: 5 MP

LED Flash: Yes

You get a 13 MP camera for general photography and a 5 MP snapper for your selfies. This is a super-impressive profile and kinda grays out what its rivals have to offer.

Battery and Extras

Battery Capacity: Li-Po 2820 mAh

A 2840 mAh battery is an interesting choice for the Wiko Slide 2. The battery will obviously struggle to power the almost a one million pixels found on its massive 5.5-inch display.

The Infinix Hot Note has for long been the best budget phablet in Kenya. Well, with the Wiko Slide 2 now here with us, buyers finally have a worthy replacement.

The Wiko Slide 2 boosts of an impeccable technical specifications profile and a flawless price tag.

The rear camera is a bit down, the headphones awkward but the phone is good.

  • quite sleek. it takes time to get used to using the phone, though… sad it has no dedicated camera button. 3.5 stars i’d give.

In the recent past I have owned a Lumia 520, Techno P7 tablet, Lumia 630 and recently the X-Tigi A5 until I bought the Wiko Slide 2 (so did 2 other family members). And I have to admit, with its price, I am impressed more than the previous phones did. Let me dismiss the fear that has been spreading about its battery, its good enough. With average use (my bluetooth headset is always connected!), it does a whole day up to around 10 and still has 10-30 % remaining. With its battery saver mode on, I have seen my sister’s SLIDE 2 do a full 3 days! And the Clean Master for Wiko will surely impress you

If you pretty well get to know how to use this awesome gadget, you develop a feeling that you don’t need another of it’s kind! Screen protection is in the market. I LOVE this phone.
