The Wiko Fever is the one of the latest mid-range smartphone to launch in Kenya.
The smartphone is from the Fever range and packs some decent technical specifications and that kinda makes it the unofficial Wiko flagship smartphone.
Here is what the Wiko Fever has to offer.
Wiko Fever Specifications
Display
Display Size: 5.2-inch
Display Type: IPS Technology
Screen Resolution: 1920×1080 Pixels
Screen Resolution Density: 424 PPI
Screen Protection: Corning Gorilla® Glass 3
The Wiko Fever features 5.2-inch IPS LCD display. The display has a 1920×1080 pixels resolution, which is really impressive and it’s great that the feature is now swiftly trickling down to mid-range smartphones.
Another fantastic feature is that the Wiko Fever comes with a Corning Gorilla® Glass 3 layer protection, a feature that is often elusive on most mid-range smartphones.
Another feature difficult to ignore is the 424 PPI screen resolution density, which is super impressive considering that the Samsung Galaxy S7 comes, the smartphone with the world’s best display comes with a 577 PPI screen resolution density.
Design
Dimensions: 148 x 73.8 x 8.3 mm
Weight: 143g
The design profile of the Wiko Fever is another core unique selling point. The Wiko Fever comes with a glow in the dark band that encloses the smartphone.
The Wiko Fever employed a bit of phosphorescence in the design and I can say that this is one of the best features I have seen on a budget smartphone.
Check out a short video of how the glow in the dark feature works.
Performance
Operating System: Android™ 5.1 (Lollipop)
CPU: Octa-Core 1.3 GHz Cortex A-53
RAM: 3 GB
Internal Memory: 16 GB
Micro SD: Yes, up to Micro SD up to 64 GB
The Wiko Fever packs a really serious performance profile. An Octa-Core 1.3 GHz Cortex A-53 powers the smartphones and this is coupled with 3 GB RAM.
You get some 16 GB as internal storage and a Micro SD slot that can handle up to 64 GB of memory.
The only disappointing bit with the Wiko Fever is that it comes with Android™ 5.1 (Lollipop). Most would have expected the device to launch with Android 6.0 but sadly that did not happen.
Camera
Rear Camera: 13 MP
Secondary Camera: 5 MP
LED Flash: Yes
You get a 13 MP camera for general photography and a 5 MP snapper for your selfies. This is in addition to having both a Rear and Front –facing LED flash.
Battery and Extras
Battery Capacity: Li-Po 2900 mAh
The Wiko Fever comes with a Li-Po 2900 mAh battery. This is exactly a disappointment considering that the battery has to power a 5.1-inch display.

Extras
4G LTE Connectivity
Verdict
The Wiko Fever is a super-fine device. When the Wiko Kenya Manager gave a brief intro about it at during the Jumia Kenya Mobile week launch event, I was interested.
The smartphone is according to me modelled to rival the Infinix Zero 3. The Wiko Fever is definitely a solid mid-ranger worth the hype.
