The Nokia Lumia 820 is kind of a Colonel in the Nokia Lumia army. Nokia positioned the Lumia 820 strategically between the mid-range Nokia Lumia 720 and the high end Nokia Lumia 920.
Interestingly, the Lumia looks a lot like the Nokia Lumia 620 but has technical specs that mirror those of the Lumia 920. The Nokia Lumia range is all-inclusive. This is in the sense, you can get exactly what you are looking from the Lumia range of Windows 8 devices.
Enough with the talk, here is a Quick Nokia Lumia 820 review.
Design
Frame Size: 123.8 x 68.5 x 9.9 mm
Weight: 160 g
Nokia Lumia 820 comes in a unibody frame with a detachable rear cover. This is unlike the compact frame found on the Lumia 920 [no detachable cover]. The Nokia 820 comes with several swappable covers that allow you to customize the device to your preference.

Display
Screen Size: 4.3 inches
Screen Resolution: 480 x 800 pixels
Screen Resolution Density: 217 ppi
Screen Protection: –
The Nokia Lumia 820, has a screen size exactly similar to that of the Lumia 920. One interesting bit, however, is that the display uses Amoled Technology. This is in contrast to the IPS LCD display on the Nokia 920.
Amoled screens are among the best you can find on a Smartphone. The Nokia Lumia 820 display is thus vibrant and outdoor visibility is amazing.

Performance
CPU: Dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait
RAM: 1 GB RAM
GPU: Adreno 225
The Nokia Lumia 820 matches each of Lumia 920 tech specs to the letter. Just like the Lumia 920, the Lumia 820 also supports the wireless charging feature.

Memory
Internal Memory: 8GB
Card Slot: Yes
The Nokia Lumia 820 is only available in an 8GB version. This is in contrast with the solid 32 GB found on the Nokia Lumia 920.
However, the Lumia 820 can swallow at maximum a 64GB MicroSD card. A card slot is one feature notably missing in the Nokia Lumia 920.
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Phone 8
The Windows 8 Black update is available for the Nokia Lumia 820. You can, therefore update any of your Lumia device as soon as you as you get it.
Camera
Rear Camera: 8 MP
Front Facing Camera: Yes, VGA
LED Flash: Dual LED
Nokia substituted the 1.3 MP front facing snapper found on the Lumia 920 with a VGA camera. If you are a selfie enthusiast, be prepared for a bit of grainy images. Apart from missing a couple of double taps on Instagram, a VGA front-facing camera should not really be a deal breaker.
Battery Life
Battery Capacity: Li-Ion 1650 mAh battery (Removable)
The Nokia Lumia 820 battery capacity is adequate to deliver a day’s worth of moderate usage. Compare this with the 2000 mAh non-removable battery found on the Lumia 920.

Techie Talk
Nokia is playing a very interesting game. A game I believed they plucked from Samsung Mobile playbook. Diversifying your product line is the easiest way to grab more market share.
The Nokia Lumia 820 is in the upper mid-range category. However, the Lumia 820 has some nifty cost saving measures here and there to keep it within an ‘affordable’ range.
Nice! , or as we say in Finnish, Kiva!
