OPPO, one of the largest smartphone companies has officially ventured into the Nigerian market. This is significant considering the Nigeria has one of the largest (if not the largest) smartphone market in Africa.
The company devices are unofficially available in Nigeria. However, OPPO officially setting up shop will enable the company offer critical after sales services as well as better co-ordinate its marketing efforts.
The company has decided to use the OPPO A3s as the device to penetrate the market.
TRANSION has a near monopoly of the Nigerian market through TECNO, Infinix and Itel Mobile smartphone brands.
OPPO and TRANSION have been going at each other in the Kenyan market for a while now. It will be interesting to see how OPPO will perform in the Nigerian market.
