WhatsApp is testing an in-app browsing feature in the beta version of the app. This will allow users of the popular messaging app to load web pages without having to exit the app.
The in-app browsing feature has been around for a quite a while on popular apps such as Twitter and Gmail and it’s just about time that the feature is coming to WhatsApp.
In addition to the convenience of being able to load webpages without leaving the app, the browser will offer security features that will warn in case the webpage has malicious content.
The security feature will also help to deal with instances of misinformation due to the use of WhatsApp to spread false news.
There is no timeline on whether or when the feature will become available on the stable version of the App.
