LG has released some more info on its upcoming Smart Watch. Information posted on the LG G Watch official website, reveals that the G watch will have an Always on display and will also come in two colors; champagne gold and stealth black.
An Always On display is not an entirely new concept. The Sony Smart Watch 2 uses a similar technology through a ‘transflective’ display. This could be a game changer since the G Watch; the Samsung Gear range of devices lacks the feature.
In addition to the Always On display, the G Watch will be water and dust resistant. The G watch will also run the Android Wear OS; an operating system coded by Google’s engineers specifically for wearable devices.
Unlike Tizen (the operating system found on the Gear 2 and Gear Fit), Google Android Wear comes with Google Maps for Navigation and Google Now, the Digital Personal Assistant.
Rumors suggest that the G watch will start popping up in stores as from July 2014.
