Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S21 series. The series which packs Samsung’s 2021 flagship devices, was unveiled through a virtual event beamed across its digital channels.
The series is composed of the base version Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The smartphones look gorgeous and could easily become the best-looking smartphones of the year, even though we are still in the first weeks of 2021.
Just to brush over the technical profiles, the display is the highlight of the smartphone where you get display size ranging from the 6.2-inch display on the Samsung Galaxy S21 to the massive 6.7-inches display on the Samsung Galaxy 6.7-inch.
However, what’s interesting about the devices is not really what Samsung included but rather the stuff the tech giant decided to exclude.
For starters, just as we reported, the Galaxy S21 devices won’t come with an AC charger, you will have to buy that separately. The devices also don’t come with the standard 3.5 mm headphone jack and also don’t include a microSD card slot.
The microSD card slot, we get, 128GB of onboard storage is often more than enough to get you going. However, the decision to stop including the charger and 3.5 mm headphone jack, is a bit controversial.
This is because some of the people who are able and willing to buy the iPhone often choose to go for premium Android smartphones primarily because they often have options that are missing on the iPhone.
It will therefore, be interesting to see how consumers will choose to vote with their wallets regarding this new development.
Speaking of wallets, here is the pricing breakdown for the Samsung Galaxy S21 series.
- Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (512GB) – Kshs 170,000
- Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (256GB) – Kshs 154,000
- Samsung Galaxy S21+ – Kshs 125,000
- Samsung Galaxy S21 (256GB) – Kshs 106,000
- Samsung Galaxy S21 (128GB) – Kshs 100,000
