Just a few weeks ago, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella teased the next generation of windows and now it has finally arrived, with some amazing updates and redesign.

One of the first things you notice is the updated UI (User Interface) featuring a redesigned taskbar and Start menu. Windows 11 has a macOS style centered taskbar icon placement, showcasing the age-old left-aligned layout of all previous windows installments.

The new menu has the search bar on top alongside pinned apps and a whole bunch of recommended items down below.

Windows now features rounded corners and is even more transparent compared to Windows 10 almost reminding one of Windows Vista, with multiple applications and a soft frosted glass look.

Window 11 also introduces Snap layouts that makes it easy to arrange multiple windows quickly around your desktop. However, what’s really fascinating is the fact that Windows now supports Android apps.

The company’s expanding its support for Android apps, allowing people to easily run phone apps on their computers. Plus, with the pandemic forcing people to work from home, Microsoft thought it wise to add the new windows with Teams app that is similar to Apple’s FaceTime for video-conferencing.

Finally, Microsoft talked about how Windows 11 is built for gamers with new features like Auto HDR, Direct Storage, and DirectX 12 Ultimate.

All things considered, Windows 11 seems like a fairly big update to the OS system. Unfortunately, Microsoft did not reveal an exact date for release, promising only that it will start this holiday season and continue into 2022. However, it will be a free upgrade to anyone currently using Windows 10.
