The Infinix Hot 4 is the latest Infinix smartphone to launch in Kenya.
Its availability in Kenya comes just a couple of months after the launch of its predecessor, the Infinix Hot 3.
I have been using the Infinix Hot 4 for a couple of weeks and here is my experience with the smartphone so far.
P.S: Check out our Infinix Hot 4 unboxing article to get an early preview of what the smartphone has to offer.
Here is the video
Full Specifications
Fingerprint Sensor
The Infinix Hot 4 is the first smartphone under Ksh. 10,000 to have a fingerprint sensor. This is big considering that a fingerprint sensor is not that common in budget smartphones.
The fingerprint sensor of the Infinix Hot 4 works really well and I totally love it. Most would have thought a fingerprint sensor on a budget smartphone would simply be more of a gimmick, but with the Infinix Hot 4 it’s different.
In addition to the fingerprint sensor securing the Infinix Hot 4, it also functions as a track pad to scroll through the gallery and can also be used to accept calls.
Battery
Battery Capacity: Li-ion 4000 mAh
The battery is the second highlight of the Infinix Hot 4. The Hot 4 sports a Li-ion 4000 mAh a massive upgrade from the Li-ion 3000 mAh battery capacity found on the Infinix Hot 3.
That battery capacity is identical to the one found on the Infinix Hot Note and therefore, you should expect a very strong battery game.
Infinix included fast charging (don’t confuse with flash charging) in order for you to fill up that humongous battery in the shortest time possible.
Display
Display Size: 5.5-inches
Display Type: IPS Capacitive
Screen Resolution: 1280 x 720 Pixels
Screen Resolution Density: 267 ppi
Screen Protection: None
You get a 5.5-inch IPS Capacitive display with the Infinix Hot 4. The display is super vibrant and outdoor visibility is impressive.
The display specifications of the Infinix Hot 4 are identical to those of the Hot 3 and therefore, there is nothing that exciting about the display. The bottom line is that it’s great.
Design
Dimensions: 152.6 x 76.2 x 8.8 mm
The design of the Infinix Hot 4 is one of the highlights of the design. Yeah, the phone is all plastic, but it still looks great.
You get this 3D texture similar to what Infinix did with the Hot Dragon. The 3D texture feels really nice when you slide your fingertips over it.
Performance
Operating System: XOS v.2.0 based on Android 6.0
CPU: 1.3GHz quad-core
RAM: 2 GB
Internal Memory: 16 GB
Micro SD: Yes, up to 32 GB
A 1.3GHz quad-core powers the Infinix Hot 4 and this is coupled by 2 GB RAM. This setup is awesome since lags and stutters are pretty much non-existent.
The Infinix Hot 4 was able to run most of the apps I threw at it.
Check out the GeekBench and Antuntu benchmark scores of the Infinix Hot 4.

Camera
Rear Camera: 8 MP
Secondary Camera: 5 MP
LED Flash: Yes
One feature of the Infinix Hot 4 that surprised me was the camera. I had expected the Hot 4 camera to be meh…but it’s actually amazing.
The smartphone takes some pretty decent selfies and general photography with the 5 MP camera is also pretty much awesome.
Verdict
The Infinix Hot 4 is a fine choice if you are out shopping for a solid budget smartphone that provides the value that you deserve.
