The Infinix Hot 4 is the latest Infinix smartphone to launch in Kenya.

The launch of the Infinix Hot 4 comes just a couple of weeks after the launch of the Infinix Hot S. The Hot is an upgrade of the Infinix Hot 3 and it comes with some stunning specifications that makes it one of the best budget smartphones you can buy right now.

Display Size: 5.5-inches

Display Type: IPS Capacitive

Screen Resolution: 720 x 1280 pixels

Screen Resolution Density: 267 ppi

You get a 5.5-inches IPS capacitive display with the Infinix Hot 4. This is exactly what you get with the Hot 3, so no upgrade there.

The Infinix Hot 4 display has a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution, which is just about right for a smartphone in its price range. It would have been awesome if the Hot 4 came with a 1080p Full HD display as that would have been a first.

However, I bet that would have made it impossible for the smartphone to have a budget price tag.

Design

Dimensions: 152.6 x 76.2 x 8.8 mm

The Infinix Hot 4 has an awesome candy bar design. The Hot 4 has this interesting 3D texture design that feels really good when you slide your fingertips across the surface.

I think it was a good thing that Infinix did that with the surface since it gives the smartphone some kind of premium appeal, despite the smartphone’s budget price tag.

Performance

CPU: 1.3GHz quad-core

RAM: 2GB

Internal Memory: 16 GB

Micro SD: Yes, up to 32 GB

A 1.3GHz quad-core powers the Infinix Hot 4. This is coupled with 2 GB RAM. It’s really awesome that the Infinix Hot 4 has adequate RAM. The most common complaint with the Infinix Hot 3 was lagging due to the 1GB RAM.

Other than that, you get 16 GB for your files and a Micro SD slot that can handle up to up to a 32 GB MicroSD card.

The Infinix Hot S runs Android 6.0 XOS out of the box. XOS looks really pretty on the Hot 4 and it’s just amazing how the customized OS runs that well on budget hardware.

Camera

You get a 8 MP camera for general photography and a 5 MP camera for your selfies.

Battery and Extras

Battery Capacity: Li-ion 4000 mAh

A Li-ion 4000 mAh battery powers the Infinix Hot 4. The battery is one of the highlight features of the Hot 4. A 4000mAh battery is large, really large. It’s adequate enough to take you on a day or even a two while on moderate usage.

Fingerprint Sensor

The Fingerprint sensor is just perfect. It works as advertised and it feels really awesome to have such a features on a budget smartphone.
