The Infinix Hot 6 Pro and the Huawei Prime Y7 2018 are two of the most popular Android smartphones on the market.
The two phones launched just a couple of days apart and have technical specification profile that look almost identical to each other.
It is therefore quite a challenge to decide on which smartphone is the best choice for you. Even a side by side comparison doesn’t offer an accurate insight on which device is better.

However, I was able to use the two devices and interestingly there is a clear winner. I was more interested in the real-world usage. For this comparison, I used the camera, software, gaming and price parameters.
Camera
The Infinix Hot 6 Pro beats the Huawei Y7 Prime hands down.
The two phones have an exact camera profile but the Hot 6 Pro is just better. Dickson Otieno from Tech-ish seems to share the same sentiments.
The performance of the camera may be because of the sensor used since color accuracy on the Hot 6 Pro is way better than that of the Huawei Y7 Prime.
Software
Both the Huawei Y7 Prime and Infinix Hot 6 Pro run Android 8.0 out of the box. The software runs well on both the device but there are lags on the Y7 Prime especially when running intensive applications. Huawei is yet to comment about the issue.
The Hot 6 Pro on the other hand has an app force closing issue that affects certain apps. Infinix has however, responded to the issue and is working on an OTA update.
Gaming
I am a huge fan of PUBG Mobile. It’s thrilling and the graphics are awesome.
Since the game is graphic intensive, i was interested to see how the game will on the two devices. Well, as you might have guessed it, the performance of the game on the Hot 6 Pro was impressive while i experienced lags and stutters while playing the game on the Huawei Y7 Prime.
Both the two smartphone are powered by a Qualcomm chipset and thus i expected the performance to be at par with each other.
My best bet is that the XOS software on the Hot 6 Pro could be better optimized for gaming.
Pricing
The Infinix Hot 6 Pro cost Ksh. 15,699 while the Huawei Y7 Prime costs Ksh. 16,999 (Source: Kilimall). The Hot 6 Pro therefore offers better performance at a slightly more affordable price. This is enough reason for you to go for the Hot 6 Pro.
What do you think of the two smartphone, leave your thoughts below.
