The Infinix Note 5 is finally here!
The smartphone launched over the weekend (June 2018) and is currently available for purchase from Jumia Kenya.
The Infinix Note 5 is special. Special in the sense that it’s the first smartphone from the popular Infinix Note series to be part of the Android One program.
That said, here is what the smartphone has to offer.
Performance
Operating System: Android Oreo 8.1 (Android One)
CPU: Octa-core 2.0 Ghz MediaTek
RAM: 3/4 GB
Internal Memory: 32/64 GB
Micro SD: Yes, up to 128 GB
The performance of the Infinix Note 5 is the core reason why you should buy the Infinix Note 5. The smartphone packs a rather powerful performance profile that is composed of a 2.0 Ghz MediaTek chipset and a choice of either 3/4 GB RAM.
In addition to this, the phone runs a pure version of Android 8.1.
So, what the heck is pure Android?
Samsung, HTC, Infinix and TECNO all manufacture Android smartphone. But how come the software that runs on their smartphones appear completely different whilst they all run Android?
The reason behind this is customization. Smartphone manufacturers customize the user interface to their liking and add extra features that give the phone a competitive edge on the market.
The downside of the customization is that getting Android software updates become a challenge since manufacturers have to first customize the updates.
Therefore, the primary advantage of a smartphone running a pure form of Android is that you will be getting Android updates straight from Google as opposed to waiting for your smartphone vendor. Apart from that the smartphone is also considerably faster.

The display has a 18:9 ratio and it’s not only vibrant but also has quite good viewing angles.
