The Infinix X507 is yet another fantastic budget device from Infinix Mobile.
The X507 features some of the best technical specifications I have seen on a low-cost device. The smartphone does definitely stand out from the crowded field of budget devices with mediocre technical specs.
Here is what the Infinix X507 has to offer.
Infinix X507 Technical Specifications
Display
Display Size: 5.0 inches
Display Type: IPS
Screen Resolution: 480 x 854 pixels
Screen Resolution Density: 196 ppi
A 5.0-Inch IPS display is almost impossible to find on an entry-level device. Just to put this in perspective, the popular Tecno Phantom Z, has a 5.2-inch display but costs five times more.
You would have expected at least a 720p resolution on that huge screen, but it is obvious that the 480 x 854 pixels is there to give the Infinix X507 a budget price tag.
Design
Frame Dimensions: 142.4 x 73.2 x 10.1 mm
Weight: 160g
The Infinix X507 has a great design concept that gives it a premium look and feel, something that is often missing on devices in its price group.
This is in addition to the soft layer that covers the device giving the user a firmer grip and makes the device scratch resistant.
The Infinix X507 is available in Black, White, Yellow and Red.
Performance
Operating System: Android 4.4.2 KitKat
CPU: 1.3 GHz Quad-core Cortex-A7
RAM: 1 GB
Internal Memory: 16 GB
Micro SD: Yes, up to 32GB
I had to check and recheck the specs sheet of the Infinix X507 to see if indeed I got right. The Infinix X507 boasts a 1.3 GHz Quad-core CPU, which is slightly more powerful than the Quad-core 1.2GHz CPU that you will find on its closest rival, the Lumia 535.
The 1 GB RAM sits decently on the Infinix X507 and you can’t really say anything much about it. You can’t, however, ignore the 16GB Internal memory on the X507. To find 16GB Internal memory in a phone from a reputable brand is an almost affair.
Camera
Rear Camera: 5.0 MP
Secondary Camera: 2.0 MP
LED Flash: Yes
A 5MP Rear Snapper sounds just right for a budget device. A 2 MP camera is somehow okay (the Samsung Galaxy S5 also has a 2MP snapper), but it would have been awesome if Infinix Mobile included a 5 MP selfie camera.
The LED flash is a great complement to enhance the quality of images captured under low light scenes.
Battery and Extras
Battery Capacity: 2000 mAh
It is interesting that the Infinix X507 packs the same exact battery capacity as the Infinix Zero and Lumia 535. The 1905 mAh battery provides just enough battery juice to power to last you a day or two.
Extras
Dual SIM Functionality
Verdict
The Infinix X507 definitely strikes a perfect bargain.
The Infinix X507 seems to be walking on a similar path as the Infinix Zero by offering great specs at an ultra-low price tag. This is probably a strategy to expand its market share in Kenya.
