Infinix recently launched the Zero X series, and the smartphones have created a buzz not just locally but also internationally. True to this mantra, Ubergizmo, a renowned website that tests and scores smartphone cameras, awarded the Zero X Pro as the best smartphone camera under $400 in 2021.
With an overall score of 155, the Infinix Zero X Pro camera is said to have a better imaging performance than other competitors while maintaining a high “value for price”, making it the perfect camera in the mid-range segment.
The Zero X (non-Pro) wasn’t far off from the winner with an overall score of 138, followed by Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 10 Pro at 135. So, what exactly made the Zero X series a favorite?
Well, they went back to the basics. It was argued that it did have a larger primary camera sensor compared to most competitors (52.92mm squared to be exact) but Ubergizmo found out the Ultrawide cameras in the Infinix Zero X series are slightly below average in their whole segment.
What gives the Zero X pro a technical edge is the decent zoom lens included in the package. Smartphone brands have increasingly been shying away from supporting zoom and favoring other optic options such as macro cameras.
However, zoom photography is much more common and is, therefore, more important. The Zero X Pro does include a 60X periscope moonshot camera that allows users to capture pictures of the moon.
Add this to the 108MP primary lens that supports Optical Image Stabilization and an 8MP telephoto lens, and you get a high-resolution picture worth remembering. The Zero X Pro is available in Kenya and has a suggested retail price of Ksh. 36,999.
