John Sculley, a former Apple Chief Executive Officer, has unveiled a new line of smartphone designed for the emerging economies that includes Kenya, Nigeria and India.
Sculley unveiled the Obi WorldPhone range that consists of the Obi Worldphone SF1 and the Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 at a media event in San Francisco, US.
The Obi WorldPhone is a result of a collaboration between Obi Mobile and Ammunition, a US-based product studio.
The Obi WorldPhone(s) are according to Obi “two high-quality, premium-designed smartphones priced at an exceptional value to attract discerning young people in fast-growth markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.”

The Obi Worldphone SF1 is Obi’s flagship smartphone. The 4G smartphone features some impressive technical specifications and an equally exciting price tag of Ksh.19,999 (Ex. Taxes) for the 2GB/16GB variant and Ksh. 25,999 (Ex. Taxes) for the 3GB/32GB variant.
