The Samsung Galaxy J7 is the current flagship smartphone of the Galaxy A range. The Galaxy J7 is an upgrade of the Galaxy J5 and a massive upgrade of the entry-level Galaxy J1.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 boasts of a 5.5 -inches display, which is 0.5-inches more than what you will find on the Galaxy J5.

The focus on the display is however, not just about its size but most importantly the display type.  The Samsung Galaxy J7 features a Super Amoled display, which according to my experience is the best you can find on the smartphone.

Other than that you get a 720p HD display, a prime feature considering the Galaxy J7 price tag. The downside of the Galaxy J7 display is that it lacks any form of screen protection, a feature that is more of a necessity rather than a luxury.

Samsung did a fantastic job in the design of the Galaxy J7 and rather than a plain design concept that was characteristic of its budget devices, you get a premium concept that is appealing to the eye.

One of the notable design aspects is the location of the earphones port that Samsung shifted from the top to the bottom of the device.

A 1.4 Ghz Octa-Core CPU powers the Samsung Galaxy J7 and this is coupled with some 1.5 GB RAM.

The Galaxy J7 runs Android OS, v5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box which is very impressive if you consider the battery saving features of Android 5.1.

Camera

LED Flash: Yes (Front and Back)

The Samsung Galaxy J7 features 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP Camera for your selfies. This is exactly the same camera profile that you will also find on the J5.

It is noteworthy to mention that the Galaxy J7 is together with the Galaxy J5, the first Samsung smartphones to feature a front facing LED flash.

The presence of a front-facing LED flash means that you can be able to take some great selfies even under low-lighting conditions.

Battery and Extras

Battery Capacity: Li-Ion 3000 mAh

The 3000 mAh battery of the Galaxy J7 is one of the highlighted features of the smartphone. The 3000 mAh capacity is in fact more than what you find on two of the best Android smartphones on the planet, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5.

Couple this with the Galaxy J7 running the latest version of the Android operating system and you have one of the best battery experiences you will find on a Samsung smartphone.

Verdict

You will agree with me that the Samsung Galaxy J7 is a solid mid-range smartphone. In the past the Samsung really struggled to offer decent smartphones at the most affordable prices.

Other vendors such as Infinix seem to have perfected the art but Samsung is quickly catching up. The Samsung Galaxy J7 is perfect for buyers seeking a solid 4G mid-range smartphone.
