Samsung has officially announced the end of the popular Galaxy J line. The leading smartphone vendor made the announcement through a video on its official channel.
The line will be replaced/merged with the recently launch Galaxy A range of budget and mid-range smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy J devices were some of the popular smartphones in Kenya with the entry-level Galaxy J1 having reigned supreme for a while in the hyper-competitive under Ksh. 10K price category.
The Galaxy A series takes over from the Galaxy J line and the phones are dope. Currently the line holds the Galaxy A10, A30, A40 and A50.
The series will target emerging smartphone markets such as India and Africa and will likely give Chinese smartphone vendors a serious run for their money.
The move is also strategic, a large part of the the Galaxy A range target market is composed of first time smartphone buyers and a great smartphone experience is a sure way to lock them inside the Samsung ecosystem.

A number of the Galaxy A smartphone recently became available in Kenya and you should check them out if you are out shopping for a budget smartphone.
