Samsung has officially confirmed Jan 14th 2021 to be the launch date of the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra.
The company did so through an invite video that was recently posted on its official YouTube account.
The launch of this year’s galaxy is interesting since Samsung went against the tradition of launching its flagship smartphones in February or March at the Mobile World Congress.
It’s unclear why Samsung decided on an early launch of the devices. The working theory is that the early launch gives the flagship devices a longer sales period, which is an obvious advantage.
The Samsung Galaxy S series is one of the most popular Android flagship smartphone series and therefore, often used to benchmark on what other flagship Android smartphones will have to offer.
Info about the specifications of the flagship devices is scanty. But what is assured is that the Galaxy S21 devices will pack better displays, cameras and more powerful performance profiles that its predecessors.
There is however, a nasty rumour that the smartphones will ship without a charger. Apple was able to get away with this and it will be interesting to see how Samsung fanboys will react to this.
