The Tecno W4 is the latest Tecno smartphone to ‘launch’ in Kenya.

I used quotes to describe the launch due to the fact that unlike previous Tecno smartphones, the W4 launch has been rather low key and there a mention about the smartphone on Tecno Kenya social media pages.

The smartphone is, however, a decent gadget and a fine choice of someone shopping for a budget Android smartphone.

First Impressions

The Tecno W4 is modelled to be kind of a Tecno Boom J8 Mini. I say this specifically because of the design concept and the general software look and feel.

You get a polycarbonate construction that is enhanced by a metallic band, a feature that gives the Tecno W4 a hint of premium despite its budget price tag.

Performance wise, I can’t complain much. The Tecno W4 provides a smooth user experience despite it boasting just 1 GB RAM.

The W4 is designed to be the almost perfect alternative of the Infinix Hot 3. My comparison between the W4 and Hot 3 shows that the former is indeed a worthy competitor.

The Tecno W4 has a suggested retail price of Ksh, 9,499 in Kenya.
