Yes, you read that right.
Vivo, the fifth largest smartphone vendor, has figured out a way to flash charge a 4000mAh battery from 0% to 100% in 13-minutes.
The smartphone company posted a demo of the process and it indeed looks legit. The company was able to achieve the speed through the use of a 60-Watt fast charger. Normal chargers range from 10W to 20W.

This is pretty significant because it normally takes ages to recharge a 4000mAh battery using a normal smartphone charger.
At that speed it means that you can recharge your smartphones from 0% to 100% in between waking up in the morning and heading out for the day.
However, it’s not very clear on whether the tech is ready for commercial use.
Fast-charging at that speed often generates a lot of heat. The massive amount of heat of generated makes it a challenge to apply the tech in daily lives of consumers.
It will be interesting to see if the tech is ready for consumers.
