The WP8.1 GDR1 update will contain four main features that include
- Support for WXGA 800 x 1280 resolution (7-Inch Tablets). The Operating System will render the user interface at a 768 x 1280 resolution and fill up the empty section with pillar boxes.
- A network time protocol
- A feature that lets you configure a phonebook entry for Microsoft Cortana
- A configuration setting for Dual SIM Windows 8 Phone Devices
One of the awesome features of Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 update is that it includes support for interactive cases. This will enable manufacturers and third-party accessories manufacturers to design cases that function similar to the Quick Circle case (LG G3).
Unconfirmed reports point Microsoft releasing the Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 update in the coming week or by August 2014.
