The Tecno Camon CX is finally here!
Check this out: TECNO Camon X unboxing
The CX is an upgrade of the Camon C9 and the latest smartphone from TECNO Mobile’s range of camera-centric smartphones.
The naming of the smartphone is awesome. Most had expected the smartphone to be named the Camon 10 but the choice of its roman number equivalent for 10, i.e X, was a fantastic branding move since it gives the smartphone a fresh appeal.
That said, here is what the TECNO Camon CX has to offer.

Specifications
Camera
Rear Camera: 16 MP
Secondary Camera: 16 MP
LED Flash: Yes
You get a 16 MP camera as the rear camera and an identical 16 MP camera as the front-facing camera. The front-facing camera promises high-quality selfies though a number of additional features included in the camera.
For starters the selfie camera has a zero lag shutter and thus excellent for shooting people/object in motion. In addition to this, the selfie camera uses 4-in-one tech to capture four images and use software to select the optimal photo.
The other noteworthy bit about the selfie camera is the beautification effect. Most smartphone cameras aren’t optimized for dark skin tones. TECNO Mobile utilized a sample of 10,000+ photographs of Africans to create an algorithm that suits darker skin tones.
TECNO Mobile also took some time to work on the Back Camera. The highlighted feature of the back camera is the customized Ring Flash. The Ring Flash uses a combination of four bright flashes in order to increase the brightness of the flash by up to 100%.
The other impressive feature of the Camon CX is the High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode. The mode brings forth the ability of the camera to capture bright and sharp images even in low light scenes. You can read more about the HDR Mode here.
The combination of the HDR Mode and the Ring Flash is commendable. The other features of the Camon CX include the inbuilt instagram features that enable to swiftly enhance the images and share them on social media.
The camera profile of the Camon CX is awesome and I am very impressed and looking forward to see if it will live up to the hype.

Display Size: 5.5-inch
Display Type: IPS LCD
Screen Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Pixels
Screen Resolution Density: 400 PPI

The TECNO Camon CX comes with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1080 Pixels resolution. The profile is identical to that to the Camon C9.
The Camon CX comes with a 2.5D display, up from the 2D display found on the Camon C9.
Design
Dimensions: 152.8 x 75.8 x 7.75 mm
The TECNO Camon CX has a fantastic design. The smartphone has an all-metal construction and the focus of the design being on the 7.75 svelte profile (the CX is 5.66mm thin at its thinnest part).
Performance
Operating System: Android 7.0 HiOS 2.0
CPU: 1.5GHz Octa-Core MT6750T
RAM: 2 GB
Internal Memory: 16 GB
Micro SD: Yes, up to 128 GB
A 1.5GHz Octa-Core MT6750T chipset powers the Camon CX. This is coupled with 2 GB RAM. That set-up is quite good, but it would have been awesome if the smartphone came with some 3GB RAM.
The TECNO Camon CX comes with 16 GB of internal storage, which is disappointing considering that 32 GB internal storage is the standard for most smartphones. I had expected the smartphone to come with at least that capacity.
It is however great that the Camon CX comes with a micro-SD slot that can handle up to 128 GB of memory.

A Li-Polymer 3200mAh camera powers the Camon CX. The capacity is a 200 mAh more than what was offered with the Camon C9
