The Huawei P30 Lite is the ‘budget’ variant of the P range of Huawei’s flagship smartphones.
The smartphone launched recently (end of March 2019) and could easily be the best mid-range Android smartphone on the market.
The Huawei P30 Lite has a suggested retail price of Ksh. 28,999. At that price point, if you are interested in the P30 Lite, you should also check out the Infinix Zero 6 (Ksh. 31,999) and Samsung Galaxy A7 (Ksh. 31,999).
That said, here is a quick review of the P30 Lite. We do hope that the review will give you insights on whether to make the P30 Lite your next smartphone.

Performance
Operating System: Android 9.0 (Pie)
CPU: 2.2 GHz Octa-core
RAM: 4 GB
Internal Memory: 128GB
Micro SD: Yes, up to 512 GB
The performance profile of the P30 Lite is probably the core reason why you should buy this smartphone. A 2.2 GHz Octa-core CPU powers the P30 Lite and this is coupled with 6GB RAM. This set up is awesome and the smartphone can handle pretty much everything you throw at it.
The performance profile makes the P30 Lite for running graphic intensive games and application.
On the software side, the P30 Lite runs Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box. This was expected and thus we can’t really say much about it.
Let’s talk about the storage, you get 128GB as internal storage and a memory card slot that can support up to 512GB of memory. This is also good and pretty much what is expected from a 2019 mid-range Android smartphone.
The performance profile of the P30 Lite is almost identical to that of the Infinix Zero 6 Pro. The distinguishing feature however, is that the Zero 6 Pro runs Android 8.1 out of the box. This is not cool at all and makes the smartphone unable to attract those who consider software a priority when buying smartphones.
Display
Display Size: 6.15 inches
Display Type: IPS LCD
Screen Resolution: 1080 x 2312 pixels
Screen Resolution Density: 415 ppi
The Huawei P30 Lite packs a 6.15-inch IPS LCD display. The display has a 1080 x 2312 pixels resolution and a screen resolution density of 415 PPI.
The display is therefore perfect and just right for the price you pay for it.
Design
Dimensions: 152.9 x 72.7 x 7.4 mm
The Huawei P30 Lite is just like its sibling, the P30 and P30 Pro gorgeous. It’s one of those phone that people notice when you are using it.
Camera
Rear Camera: 24 + 8 + 2 MP
Secondary Camera: 32 MP
LED Flash: Yes
The P series is a camera series and the P30 Lite doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the camera experience. You get a 24 + 8 + 2 MP triple rear camera system for general photography and a 32MP camera for your selfies.
Battery and Extras
Battery Capacity: Li-Po 3340 mAh
A Li-Po 3340 mAh battery powers the P30 Lite. This is probably the weakest feature of the smartphone. It would have been awesome if the phone came with a solid 4000 mAh battery, just like the Huawei Y9 2019.
Extras
Fingerprint Sensor
