OPPO partners with Volkswagen-FAW to develop battery flash charging technologies

OPPO announced a global partnership at the Mobile World Congress held in Shanghai with three global companies including FAW-Volkswagen, Anker and NXP semiconductors to launch a new mobile flash charging project dubbed the Flash initiative.

Known to be a major player when it comes to fast charging, OPPO partnered with the said companies involved in the automobile, portable charging, and chip manufacturing sectors to provide their customers access to fast charging through OPPO’s VOOC flash charging.

The companies have agreed to integrate the pioneering technology to their products and will later be certified by China’s largest tech certification labs, The CTTL (China Telecommunication Technology Laboratory)

Senior Director of Intellectual property at OPPO, Adler Feng said, “The Flash Initiative reflects OPPO’s belief in human-centric technologies that make a difference in people’s everyday lives. And thanks to our new partners, our proprietary technologies can reach more people than ever before.”

Anker, one of the world’s leading consumer electronic brands, will help to bring fast charging to millions of people through their products from chargers, power banks, and even headphones.

While the Joint-venture between automobile companies FAW and Volkswagen will give drivers and passengers power on the go by using OPPO’s unique and rapid charging.

NXP Semiconductors, will work with OPPO to integrate VOOC flash charging to their high circuit board assemblies used in public spaces and industrial settings.
