The experience of casting a YouTube video to a Chromecast-connected TV has remained basic for the past several years. It appears though, Google is striving to make the device a bit more sophisticated in the future.
The Multinational company is testing a YouTube ‘app’ for Chromecast that will give you added functionality without necessarily having to use an Android TV or buying the newest Chromecast.
Typically, casting a YouTube video from your phone to a Chromecast-connected TV meant loading a video player that provides basic information like channel name, views, date, and time. Once your clip ends, a ‘Ready to watch’ splash screen appears with instructions.

Fortunately, some Chromecast users have spotted a much more sophisticated experience that comes with a remote control appearing in the YouTube mobile app. The player also lets users add videos to the queue, change resolution and enable subtitles. And, when a clip ends, you get suggestions for more videos to watch.
With this new app, Google will definitely offer a much more engaging YouTube experience and although we don’t know when it’s rolling out or if it will, Chromecast could soon become a complete and advanced media-hub that will reduce your desire to buy the latest devices.
