Infinix Note 11 Pro can simultaneously handle more apps than the Galaxy S21

Usually, you’d expect a flagship smartphone, or any flagship for that matter, to have better RAM, memory space, and overall better performance than an ordinary mid-ranger.

But not in this case, apparently, a comparison video has emerged showcasing the Infinix Note 11 Pro simultaneously handling not one or two but twenty apps, and the flagship it’s being compared to is none other than Samsung’s Galaxy S21.

The video starts with both devices running twenty apps including;

  • Instagram
  • WhatsApp
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • TikTok
  • YouTube
  • Truecaller
  • Firefox
  • YouTube Music
  • Zoom
  • Telegram
  • Mix Player
  • UC Browser
  • Opera News
  • Gmail
  • Maps
  • Vidmate and Messenger

We also have games like PUBG and Free Fire being run.

The smartphones both take around the same time to load all 20 apps and games, after which, they are both closed and then re-opened to check if they were still running in the background.

Shockingly, the Note 11 Pro kept running all twenty apps and games in the background like a champ, and not a single one was reloaded. Wherever the user was last in the app or game, is exactly where he returns when he comes back.

The Galaxy S21, on the other hand, kept running only 8 of the 20 apps and games including WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, Mix Player, Opera News, Gmail, and Messenger. The other 12 of the 20 all reloaded and took a bit longer to start up compared to the Note 11 Pro.

However unbelievable this can be, it is very possible due to Infinix’s latest cool feature in the smartphone called Extended RAM technology.

The feature allows the Note 11 Pro to add up to 3GB of virtual RAM from its internal memory to boost the RAM from 8GB to 11GB. With the additional RAM, the number of apps that the smartphone is capable of running simultaneously increases from 9 to 20.

Plus, the average startup speed is increased by 60% to 300ms. Explaining why the Note 11 Pro can load apps in the background faster than the Galaxy S21. The feature adopts a dual swap partition technology that employs a hot and cold pages identification algorithm.

Basically, the Note 11 Pro marks different apps and games as hot and cold depending on the memory page activity level. Afterward, it stores them in different swap partitions to prevent erasure as well as reduce read back rate and improve the responsiveness of commonly used apps.

Speaking of apps, the device also integrates an AI prediction algorithm that can predict apps that are not going to be used for a while, based on the user’s patterns, and saves them to the extended memory, creating more space and faster startup times for hot launch apps.

It’s incredible technology from Infinix and it’s quite good they are employing such features on their smartphones. It not only offers them an edge in the midrange segment but also gives flagships a run for their money.
