Samsung has officially unveiled two of the latest and most affordable models to its A series, the Galaxy A13, and A23 after months of rumors and specs leaks.
Both devices feature some upgrades (and downgrades) to their predecessors including larger screens, faster charging, and better cameras.
Starting with the Galaxy A23, the first major change is the display. Contrary to the A22’s 6.4” AMOLED with 720p resolution, the A23 sports a 6.6” IPS LCD with 1080p and 60Hz refresh rate.
Strangely, it’s more similar to the A13 than it is to its predecessor. The changes continue to the cameras, where the 48MP camera on the A22 is replaced by a 50MP sensor on the A23.
The Ultra-wide lens and selfie camera drop to a 5MP sensor and 8MP lens respectively, while the two 2MP macro and depth sensors remain the same.

Samsung didn’t reveal the chipset, however, it does come with several memory configurations; 4, 6, or 8GB of RAM and 64 or 128GB internal storage. The Galaxy A23 will run Android 12 out of the box. The battery capacity is also the same as last year but it comes with an upgrade in charging speed -from 15W to 25W.
The Galaxy A13 5G launched in December now comes in a 4G version. As mentioned earlier, it is mostly similar to the A23 except for a few areas. We know it comes with the Exynos 850 chipset plus, a 3GB RAM, and 32GB storage configuration.
In terms of prices, the Galaxy A13 4/64GB model is stated to cost $210 (around Ksh. 23,909). The A23 hasn’t been listed yet, so we’ll have to get back at you on the price.
