A few weeks ago, Realme launched the 9 series and now, one of its members, the 9i, has officially been unveiled in the Kenyan market.

The Chinese brand has been around locally for some time and in spite of not getting a taste of their other better offers (Realme 9 Pro+) the company makes up for it by bringing one of the best in the budget segment, as seen on the 9i.

The performance-centric device packs quite an interesting technical profile with a powerful Snapdragon processor, Fast-charging and an AI Triple camera setup.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 4G powers the Realme 9i. The processor can clock to speeds of up to 2.4Ghz, giving the smartphone unprecedented performance while handling all your apps and games.

Alongside the chipset, we have 6GB of RAM that can also be expanded to 11GB, through Realme’s Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) technology for faster load times and an even smoother experience.

Keeping the lights on is a massive 5000mAh battery that lets you enjoy gaming and video playback all day long. Low battery? Not a problem, enabling Super Power-saving Mode at even 5% can deliver extended standby of over 48 hours.

Other key specs include a 6.6-inch IPS LCD supporting 1080p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate for a smooth, high-definition visual experience, a triple camera setup with a 50MP main lens and a 16MP AI selfie camera.

The Realme 9i comes running Android 11 out of the box but should be getting a software upgrade to Android 12 soon. The smartphone is available countrywide as well as online through Jumia for a suggested retail price of Ksh. 21,999.
