The Android development team sat down with arstechnica.com and gave some insights about the final build of Android P. From their chat, it appears that the focus of Android P will be on battery life.

Android P will use a number of features that will ensure you get the most out of the battery. The features include an adaptive battery feature, changes to how apps run on the background and a fresh auto brightness scheme.

The battery optimization will go into the hardware and software level. For instance, Android will now have a greater control over the operations of the chipsets as well as have an intelligent hold over the kind of apps that can run when you are not actively using the phone.

Battery life has been awesome on Android Oreo and we can therefore be nothing but optimistic about it on Android P.
