The average use of internet usage in households has incredibly increased in the last couple of years. People are spending more on data, and are open to the idea of home wifi installation as opposed to a while ago when it was thought to be suited to folks who have money to spare.
And while it isn’t as cheap right now as we’d hoped it would be, there are some affordable plans. In this article, we have a list of them along with their installation fees, internet speeds, and monthly payments. We’ve also arranged in order of cheapest to the most expensive.
That said, check out some of the cheapest wifi providers as of October 2022. (Ps. Homeplan packages only)
1. Poa! Internet
This is undoubtedly the cheapest and most convenient package of the bunch, especially for users living in urban areas.
This low-cost provider offers speeds of up to 4MBPS at Ksh. 1,500 per month. Installation fees are quite fair at Ksh. 3,500. Plus, users have access to over 10,000+ hotspots guaranteeing 100MB of free access data.
Poa! Internet comes highly recommended especially if you live in Nairobi.
2. Mawingu wifi
We recently did a review on Mawingu Networks. As an internet provider, their prices are also decently considerable with their lowest plan starting at 5MBPS for Ksh. 2,500 per month. You can check more about Mawingu wifi here.
3. Telkom Kenya
After rebranding to Telkom from Orange, this service provider has had major overhauls to its systems including its wifi packages.
Featuring download speeds of up to 15MBPS, Telkom has something for everyone whether you want a limited plan starting at 12GB per month or unlimited internet.
It’s actually by far, the best internet provider at the moment since it’s both fast and affordable. Unlimited plans range from Ksh. 4,000 to Ksh. 5,500 valid for 30 days.
4. Zuku Internet
Next up, we have Zuku internet. It’s a bit more expensive with plans starting at Ksh. 2,799 for 10MBPS valid for one month.
This is an ideal provider if you are looking to combine Tv and internet for your family and not just internet only.
5. Safaricom Home Fibre
Safaricom Home Fibre comes fifth with unlimited internet ranging at speeds from 8MBPS to 40MBPS. As far as reliability is concerned, Safaricom’s Home Fibre reigns dominant with less lag and internet down occasions.
Their lowest package dubbed Bronze starts at Ksh. 2,999. It’s worth noting that if you are a fan of Safaricom but a low internet user, you could opt for the Big Box instead.
6. Faiba Internet
Last but not least, we have Faiba Internet under Jamii Telecom. This is the most expensive but has the fastest speeds of the other plans with their lowest package offering up to 30MBPS.
Faiba is suited for heavy Internet users that regularly download large files or are always browsing and need fast speeds.
