Samsung first debuted a 108MP lens on last year’s Galaxy S20 Ultra and since then, it’s been a fixture on the company’s flagships. The high-resolution camera has always been restricted to Ultra-devices, but that could change starting next year.

Based on a report by The Elec, Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy A73 in the first half of 2022, featuring a 108MP primary camera that supports OIS (optical image stabilization).

There’s still no word on the exact model of the camera sensor that will be used, so there’s no guarantee it’s the same sensor found in Samsung’s Ultra phones.

Nevertheless, it’s a much-needed improvement to the A72’s 64MP main snapper. A quick note, the OIS feature will be available to the entire Galaxy A 2022 lineup. So, if you want good cameras on a budget, you should keep an eye on next year’s series.

Samsung has obviously not hinted anything about their next A series and we still have months before these devices are due. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info. about them in the coming months.
