The latest Infinix flagship smartphone is finally out!
The Infinix Zero 6 was one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2018/2019.
Why was it so anticipated?
Well, Infinix Zero smartphones are awesome, it’s as simple as that.
The smartphones pack an powerful performance profile while at the same time they have an affordable mid-range price tag.
The Infinix Zero 6 doesn’t disappoint, it’s now easily the best Android smartphone priced under Ksh. 30,000 you can buy right now.
The Infinix Zero 6 has a suggested retail price of Ksh. 31,999. If you are interested in it, you should check out the Samsung Galaxy A7 (Ksh. 29,999) and TECNO Camon 11 Pro (Ksh. 24,999).
That said, here is what the Infinix Zero 6 has to offer.
Why you should buy the Infinix Zero 6
- Powerful Performance Profile
- Gorgeous Metal and Glass Design
- Impressive Camera Profile
Cons of the Infinix Zero 6
- Comes with a Hybrid SIM card slot
Display
Display Size: 6.18-inch
Display Type: IPS LTPS
Screen Resolution: 1080 x 2246 Pixels Full HD+
Screen Resolution Density: 403 PPI
Screen Protection: Dual Corning Gorilla Glass
The Infinix Zero 6 offers a 6.18-inch IPS LTPS display. The display has a resolution of 1080 x 2246 Pixels and a resolution density of 403 PPI, it’s therefore as sharp as it can get.
You would totally love the Zero 6 display if viewing experience is of great priority to you. The display is just perfect for gaming and watching movies. It’s also great for reading texts thus perfect for e-book reading.
In addition to this, you get a Corning Gorilla Glass layer on top of the display. Because of this, you don’t need a screen protector. The other feature is the notch. The Notch was in vogue in 2018 and we therefore, expected the Zero 6 to rock one.
Design
Material: Metal and Glass
Dimensions: 156.8 x 75.9 x 7.95 mm
The Infinix Zero 6 is slim. The smartphone has a thickness of about 8mm and this is despite of the powerful components that the Zero 6 packs.
It’s an all metal and glass affair with the Zero 6, no plastic here. The Zero 6 therefore gives off a premium look and feel. The aesthetics of the Zero is awesome and it will attract the interest of people around you.
The downside of the premium design is that the Zero 6 weighs just a little bit more than your average mid-range smartphone.
Metal and glass are denser than plastics and hence the additional weight. However, the good thing is that you will get used to the weight really quick.
Performance
Operating System: Android 8.1
CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 636
RAM: 6GB
Internal Memory: 64/128 GB
Micro SD: Yes, up to 256 GB
First things first, the Zero 6 supports the Faiba Network. It’s the first Infinix phone to support the network and this is a big deal especially for those who want to splurge on the data packages buffet that the Faiba network offers.
That aside, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset powers the Zero 6. So what the heck does this mean?
You get not two, not four, but rather 8 cores that powers the Zero 6. Having a home that has 8 rooms is better than one with 2 rooms, right? That analogy applies here.
There is a lot you can do with an 8-core CPU. You can throw all the intensive games and apps you know at the smartphone and the Zero 6 will deliver an astounding performance.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chip is coupled with 6GB of RAM. This is similar to what you get on the TECNO Camon 11 Pro.
The RAM capacity is excellent. The phone doesn’t hang or stutter. The performance is as smooth as sliding a hot knife through butter.
On the memory, you get to choose between 64/128GB as internal storage. The more memory the better. However, the 64GB version is slightly more expensive than the 128GB version.
The pain point with the Infinix Zero 6 performance profile is that it has a hybrid micro SD card slot. This means you can either use the micro SD slot for your memory card or your SIM 2, not both at the same time.
If having dual SIM cards is important to you, it might be a good idea to grab the 128GB version. Otherwise, the 64GB variant will do just fine.
On the software side, the phone runs Android 8.1 out of the box. It would have been awesome if the Zeoro 6 came with Android 9 Pie.
The good thing is that historically Infinix has provided software updates to its Zero line and thus the Android 9 update could as well be in the pipeline.
Camera
Back Camera: 12+24 MP
Selfie Camera: 20 MP
LED Flash: Yes
The Infinix Zero 6 offers a 12+24 MP Dual Camera for general photography and a 20 MP camera for your selfies.
The camera profile looks good on paper but however, can’t wait to capture some real life photo samples to show you just what the camera is capable off.
Battery and Extras
Battery Capacity: 3650mAh
A 3650mAh battery powers the Infinix Zero 6. The battery is large enough to last up to two days while on moderate usage.
Extras
Fingerprint sensor
