Late last year, the latest addition to Nokia’s G-series, the G50 was announced and it recently became available for purchase in Kenya.
According to a previous leak we covered, the G50 was supposed to feature a V-notch display, a 48MP main camera, and a large battery.
Now, fully informed, we know the smartphone boasts a solid technical profile with major highlights you’d expect from a decent mid-ranger. In fact, Nokia claims it is a ‘future-proof smartphone that’s great for today and ready for tomorrow.’
The G50 is actually 5G ready and is Nokia’s most affordable 5G smartphone. Plus, you won’t have to worry about small screens anymore as it sports a massive 6.82” IPS LCD HD+ display.
It’s rather large but quite normal to Infinix fans so if you like the feeling of holding big phones that is not necessarily an Infinix, the G50 is definitely on the table.
On to the good stuff, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 5G chipset powers the Nokia G50. The Octa-core processor clocks up to 2.0Ghz running alongside 4GB of RAM.
For storage, you get 128GB of memory and Android 11 out of the box. The good thing with Nokia is their software update, which can go up to 3 years of monthly security patches.
The Camera setup is very similar to the G20 with a 48MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP depth sensor. The battery capacity is also essentially the same at 5,000mAh, but it charges faster at 18W (10W for the G20).
The Nokia G50 is not yet available online, but you can purchase it at select stores countrywide at a retail price of Ksh. 26,999.
Next; Vivo V23 5G is now official; pre-order yours at Ksh 59,999
