OPPO has embarked on an aggressive drive to expand its ecosystem. Ecosystems are a great way for brands to improve their positioning on the market while concurrently optimize the customer lifetime value.
As part of the move, the Chinese-based tech giant has unveiled three new products; Enco Air, Vitality, and K9 smart TVs.
The OPPO Enco Air is a line of True Wireless (TW) headsets and is a product extension of the Enco X, another excellent product that OPPO launched just over a year ago.
The OPPO Enco Air is lite a version of the Enco X. The wireless headphones pack a number of impressive features such as 24 hours music playback and IPX4 water resistance certifications.
In addition to this, the product targets the gaming crowd and packs a dedicated gaming mode that lowers the Bluetooth transmission frequency to 47ms to minimize audio lag, especially when playing multiplayer games.
The headset is currently only available in China but OPPO will likely launch it locally. Expect it to have a suggested retail of between Ksh. 4,500 to Ksh. 5,000.
The K9 TV lineup was the highlight of the launch.
The TVs are available in three sizes; 43-inch, 55-inch, and a 65-inch variant. All the three TVs come with a Mediatek Quad-core chipset and 2GB of RAM. It’s unlikely that OPPO will launch the TVs locally, so it’s more of a wait-and-see game.
The 43-inch has a 1080p resolution while the remaining two are 4K ready.
Speaking of TVs, smartphone brands are gradually making a shift into the segment. The recent brand to make a move to the segment is itel mobile, with its range of budget Android televisions that are available locally. The launch of the TVs was part of itel’s ambitious rebrand.
The OPPO vitality brand is the brand’s move into the health tracking wearable segment. The vitality brand offers up to 14 days of usage from a single charge and costs about Ksh. 2,999. It’s is also not clear whether OPPO will make the vitality band available in Kenya.
The new product launch come just days after OPPO revealed its plans to build its world-class research and development headquarters in China.
