The camera is one of the highlighted features of the OPPO F11 Pro. The smartphone packs an impressive camera profile, where you get a 48+5 MP back camera and a 16MP elevating front-facing camera for your selfies and video calls.
The F11 Pro is also among the few smartphones on the market that features a motorized selfie snapper. It’s a neat feature that sets the device apart from the competition.
The camera profile of the device looks really great on
Here are our thoughts about the OPPO F11 camera. Be sure to drop your comments in the section below if there is something extra you would like to know about the camera.
OPPO F11 Pro: Camera App
The OPPO F11 camera app is minimalistic and thus pretty easy to navigate.
On the bottom side you get the different camera modes. There is the video, photo and portrait modes. On the extreme right of the same bar, there is a menu option that provides extra functionalities. The menu option is available for all modes.
Tapping the menu option gives you night, panoramic, expert, time-lapse, slow Motion and the Google lens options.
The Expert option is for those who desire to have more control over the camera hardware. Through the mode you can adjust the exposure, white balance, auto focus and the exposure values.
The Expert mode also presents a great opportunity to be able to learn and get more accustomed about the different professional photography settings.
The upper bar on other hand, is active when in the video and photo mode. When in video mode, the bar offers options to toggle the flash on and off, select the resolution of the video (720p/1080p) and also select which filter you want to use when shooting the video.
When in photo mode, the top bar offers options to toggle the flash, activate HDR, turn on color dazzle and select the filter you want to use.
OPPO F11 Pro Camera Review: App Settings
The camera app gives you an option to adjust the photo ratio, set a timer, decide to use touch to take photos. In addition to this, you get a grid option to use when you are feeling professional as well as a watermark option to brand your photos.
OPPO F11 Pro Camera Review: HDR Mode
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. This is how it works.
Photography is about using light to create art. With light involved there is the challenge of being of balancing between the light and dark spots of a photo. HDR is a setting that helps you to be able to do this and deliver vibrant shots with ease.
The HDR mode on the F11 Pro works relatively well. Here is a comparison photo of the same subject while HDR is turned off and when it’s turned on.

OPPO F11 Pro Camera Review: Portrait Mode
Have you seen those cool photos where the subject is highlighted and the background is blurred?
Well, that’s portrait mode. Portrait mode is excellent at making mundane subjects look exquisite.
The F11 Pro has a dedicated portrait mode that is really good. The portrait mode is powered by AI and is able to take stunning photos esp. in well-lit environments.
Check out this photo I took using portrait mode.

OPPO F11 Pro Camera Review: Selfies
Selecting the selfie option triggers the selfie camera to elevate.
The selfie camera option user interface layout is almost identical to that of the back camera. The F11 Pro lacks a front-facing flash and thus, the flash option is missing on the user interface.
The F11 Pro gives you the option to select the sound effect for the elevating selfie camera. You can choose between a silent, technology, mechanical and musical option.

Camera Performance in real life: Sample Photos
The camera performance of the OPPO F11 Pro is quite good. I liked it and I bet that you will also like it too. The smartphone offers a great point and shoot experience.
Shooting on auto mode is great and i liked most of the photos that I captured with the device. The video is also good, the quality was decent and satisfactory.
The selfie camera was also great. I was able to shoot some fine selfies and the filter mode added some flair to the selfies.
The OPPO F11 Pro was able to deliver some great selfies even in the dark. The smartphone gives you the option to use the light from the display to illuminate your face when taking selfies.
OPPO F11 Pro Camera Review: What needs to be improved
I had some issues with the selfie camera. I feel like the selfie camera needs some optimization, especially for users with darker skin tones.
Some of the selfie that I took came out really pale and it looks that the selfie camera is over compensating when It detects a darker skin tone.
It’s also disappointing that the F11 Pro doesn’t support shooting videos in 4K. 4K shooting is now a common feature in smartphones and it would have been awesome if OPPO included the mode.
The other bit is about Google Lens. It’s mostly a nerdy feature that still needs work. Google Lens however, works well on the F11 Pro and it’s able to accurately detect most of the objects. I however, had a case where it detected an ostrich to be a puppy.
There you have it, our thoughts about the OPPO F11 Camera. The F11 Pro has a suggested retail price of Ksh. 39,999 in Kenya.
