The Redmi Note 11 and the TECNO Camon 19 are one of the most outstanding upper-budget smartphones to come out this year.
Both smartphones have a lot to offer and are pretty compelling handsets that you wouldn’t hesitate to buy on a good day.
The TECNO Camon 19 certainly makes an impression to be crowned the better phone. Besides a solid camera profile and an even better design, the current Camon 19 sports a much more improved AMOLED True tone display that’s broader and clearer.
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 11 comfortably competes with its rival performance-wise, with the new Snapdragon 680 chipset and a long-lasting battery that charges at 33W.
That said, here is a comparison review between the Redmi Note 11 and the TECNO Camon 19.
Technical profile
Unique selling proposition
Redmi paid special attention to battery life for the entire Note 11 series lineup, and this model reaps the benefits. Plus, the Snapdragon 680 is not only a fast and powerful chipset but also energy efficient.
Being a camera-centric device, the Camon 19’s 64MP camera profile and technology are undoubtedly its unique selling proposition. In addition, having won this year’s IF design award, it’s a pretty gorgeous smartphone with an elegant theme.
Design
Specifications | Redmi Note 11 | TECNO Camon 19 |
---|---|---|
Size | 159.9 x 73.9 x 8.1 mm | 166.6 x 74.4 x 8.3 mm |
Both the Redmi Note 11 and the TECNO Camon 19 are gorgeous smartphones. The Redmi Note 11 looks a lot similar to the Redmi Note 10 right down to its flat frame and minimalist style.
The Camon 19 meanwhile is a major step up from the Camon 18 which also honestly was quite a good-looking phone.
When it comes to matters of design, it all boils down to personal taste, however, I think a good majority would agree the Camon 19 is the better-looking of the two.
Display
Specifications | Redmi Note 11 | TECNO Camon 19 |
---|---|---|
Display Size | 6.43-inches | 6.8 inches |
Display Resolution | 1080 x 2400 pixels | 1080 x 2460 pixels |
Display Resolution Density | 409 PPI | 395 PPI |
Display Type | AMOLED | IPS LCD |
The Camon 19’s 6.8-inch display offers slightly more space than the Note 11’s 6.43-inch screen but, they both come with a centered punch-hole notch. However, that’s not the story here.
Redmi has amped the Note 11 series peak brightness up to 1000 nits while the Camon 19’s peak brightness came in at 700 nits. You’re not going to struggle to see either phone when you’re outside in bright sunlight.
The Note 11 has one advantage over the Camon 19, its display type. The Note 11 packs an AMOLED 90Hz display while TECNO’S Camon 19 sports an average IPS LCD panel. Basically, the Note 11 offers clearer and richer colors than its rival.
Cameras
Specifications | Redmi Note 11 | TECNO Camon 19 |
---|---|---|
Rear Camera | 50+8+2+2MP | 64+2MP |
Selfie Camera | 13MP | 16MP |
Flash | LED | Quad-LED |
Being a camera-centric smartphone, the Camon 19 is a beast when it comes to pictures. With little aces up its sleeve like Night Portrait and HDR video, the Camon 19 handles backlit environments just fine.
Plus the industry’s first RGBW lens that replaces a G (Green) lens with a W (white) one makes the overall photo brighter and clearer.
Not much action in photography for the Redmi Note 11. Nevertheless, its 50MP quad camera setup gets the job done and doesn’t disappoint.
Performance
Specifications | Redmi Note 11 | TECNO Camon 19 |
---|---|---|
Operating System | Android 11 | Android 12 |
RAM | 4/6 GB | 4/6 GB |
Internal Memory | 64/128GB | 128GB |
Micro SD | Yes, up to 512GB | Yes, up to 512GB |
Even with MediaTek’s Helio G85 chipset, the Camon 19 doesn’t put up much of a fight against the Snapdragon 680 chipset on the Redmi Note 11.
The 680 clocks at 2.4 GHz while the G85 maxes out at 2.0 GHz. CPU speed is paramount for any performing phone. The faster the CPU speed, the faster your phone can complete tasks and take less loading time.
Memory-wise, both smartphones are at par coming with either 4 or 6GB of RAM. Storage levels range from 64-128GB for Redmi’s Note 11 while the Camon 19’s is fixed at 128GB. They are both sufficient and should be capable of handling all your large media files.
Battery
Specifications | Redmi Note 11 | TECNO Camon 19 |
---|---|---|
Battery Capacity | Li-Po 5000 mAh | Li-Po 5000 mAh |
Charging Speed | 33w | 18w |
The Redmi Note 11 and the TECNO Camon 19 draw power from 5000mAh batteries. The Note 11 does have an edge over the Camon 19 when it comes to charging speed.
Commentary
Both the Redmi Note 11 and TECNO Camon 19 are formidable contenders for one of the best budget smartphones in 2022. They bring awesome designs, exceptional performance, and clear displays.
Even though it’s not the newest Note on the block, the Redmi Note 11 reigns dominant against the Camon 19, riding its faster chipset and ultra-clear AMOLED display to victory.
Plus, the fact that it costs way less than the Camon 19 that came out more recently, widens its lead even further.
That’s not to say TECNO’S Camon 19 isn’t one of the best Android phones especially when it comes to the camera, but Redmi has put together a great combination of hardware and Software with the Note 11.
