Redmi-Note-12-Main-image

The Redmi Note 12 is a mid-range Android smartphone that was launched in November 2022 but has yet to arrive in the Kenyan market.

The device is part of Redmi’s Note 12 series lineup consisting of the Note 12 Pro, the Pro Plus, and the Explorer edition.

Customary with Redmi’s Note series built on performance and clear displays, the Note 12 packs a Full HD+ display and Qualcomm’s new 4 Gen 1 chipset supporting 5G.

That said, here’s a look at what the Redmi Note 12 has to offer.

Key Specs of the Redmi Note 12

Display

Display Size: 6.67-inches

Display Type: AMOLED

Screen Resolution: 1080 x 2400 pixels

Screen Resolution Density: 395 ppi

The display is one area that the Note 12 brings some noteworthy upgrades. The model comes with a 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED panel featuring 2400 x 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

This kind of setup ensures the Note 12 brings a significantly better display experience than its predecessor.

Design

Dimensions: 165.9 x 76.2 x 8 mm

The Note 11 packed a complex camera system despite only two lenses being actually usable. This new design on its successor looks more refined and symmetric, plus it looks a lot cleaner, in line with some of the recent premium models.

The handset comes in Black, White, and Blue color options.

Performance

Operating System: Android 12

CPU: 2.0Ghz Octa-core

RAM: 4-8GB

Internal Storage: 128-256GB

Micro SD: Yes

A 2.4Ghz Octa-core processor powers the Redmi Note 12 alongside 4-8GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset is aimed at upper budget devices just like the Dimensity 810 chipset present on the Note 11, so it doesn’t come with super different changes in performance.

Storage-wise, the Note 12 packs 128/256GB of internal memory with a microSD card slot to expand storage at your will.

Camera

Back Camera: 48+2MP

Front Camera: 8MP

LED Flash: Yes

The Redmi Note 12 sports a 48MP primary lens and a 2MP depth shooter for general photography. Upfront, you get an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. Not much action in the camera department.

Battery

Battery Capacity: Li-Po 5000mAh

The Redmi Note 12 draws from a decent 5000mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging. It should last a day or two depending on usage.

Online Price in Kenya

The Redmi Note 12 has yet to arrive in Kenya. However, when it does, it should carry a price tag of Ksh. 22,699.
